A new look for MJP

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

You’ve probably noticed by now… We’ve taken down the tarps to reveal that we aren’t the same old My Jewish Portal.

But the improvements aren’t skin deep.  My Jewish Portal is on it’s way to being the only website you’ll need to visit to find out everything that’s going on at your synagogue, in your community and around the world!

In the “Our World” section you’ll see some new calendars, including Shabbat and Havdallah candle lighting times for your city and Jewish Holidays for every year from now until the time that something really cool replaces the internet completely.  You’ll also find continuously updated Jewish News, a weekly 10-line summary of the current Torah Portion, and little bits of Jewish trivia.  Sorry, but you no longer have an excuse for not knowing relevant Jewish “stuff”.

In the “My Community” section, take a look at our new and improved Community Calendar.  It sorts and filters in more ways than anyone really needs, but will no-doubt keep you entertained for hours.  We’ve always had the Singles and Tikkun Olam calendars, but take a quick look at the Top Events scrolling windows on your homepage, and the dropdowns on top of the community calendar.  We’ve added a voting system so that you can show support for the events you like, and recommend to others.  With that voting capability, we can help you find the most popular and exciting Jewish things going on in your neck of the woods.

Yes, my friends, we are well on our way to creating the most dynamic and innovative Jewish community calendar on the web, and we’re so happy you will be joining us on our journey.

We invite your comments, criticism and ideas for what would make MyJewishPortal.com even better!  use the Contact Us page to let us know you care.

Until next time… Our regards to the mishpacha.
